Why My Toddler Takes Supplements Every Day

10/21/2023

I meal prep so we're not tempted to grab quick, processed food. I buy organic produce, free range eggs, and high-quality meats, when possible. I do my best to always include some type of fresh veggie and/or fruit with our meals.

...But I make sure that my daughter and I take certain supplements every day.

Why?

...Because in today's world, no matter how "clean" you are, there's a high likelihood that you are deficient in essential nutrients because our FOOD is deficient in these nutrients.

We harvest produce too early, from soil that's usually stripped of its natural minerals, let it sit while it ships to stores, quick-ripen with ethylene gas to make it "seem" ripe and wonder why our produce has a fraction of the nutrient value as nature intended.

This isn't even getting into whether the produce is covered in pesticides, GMO, and the latest Apeel introduction, etc...

This is one of the reasons to buy your produce locally when possible. A local farmer doesn't need to pick the produce so early because it isn't going to spend days traveling to its store location. This allows more time for nutrients and minerals to anchor into the produce, which in turn means you reap the benefit of a more nutritious product.

However, sometimes it's not possible for everything in your diet to be local and/or organic.

This is where supplementation comes in.

I try my best to provide my daughter and I with the best food options that I can, and I supplement to fill in the gaps. Mom Guilt is real, and this is a way to know that I am doing the best I can and I'm able to take a breath when we are faced with not-so-wonderful, limited choices at times.

*Note: I've included links as a convenient way to purchase if any of these resonate with you and your family's health decisions. As an Innate Choice, Mannatech, & Amazon Affiliate, I earn commission on qualifying purchases. You don't have to use the links, but I definitely appreciate if you do. 🙂
